Paul Rudd will return for Parks and Recreation Final Season

December 30, 2014 by Gavin Logan

Paul Rudd is set to reprise his role as heir to the Sweetums throne Bobby Newport for the final season of Parks and Recreation. Rudd will join fellow returnees Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe and Jon Hamm.

Rudd is due to appear in only two episodes of the Seventh and Final Season of the hit comedy series but apparently was “high on the list” of people they wanted to get back on the show according to executive producer Michael Schur:

“He’s the world’s nicest human being—and the funniest…We made a list of all the people that we wanted to have back…so we managed to snag him.”

Rudd filmed the two episodes during a brief break from shooting Marvel’s Ant-Man – due out in July 2015 – in which he’ll be starring as leading man/superhero Scott Lang. EW are reporting that Rudd’s character Bobby will be returning as a favour to Ben Wyatt – played by Adam Scott – who thinks “he might be a good candidate” to “fill a certain position”.

The final season of Parks and Recreation is due to air January 13 on NBC.
