With the core cast of Peacock’s upcoming drama The Five-Star Weekend having been assembled, attention is now turning to its supporting cast and the latest names to be announced as joining the series Harlow Jane (Dig), David Denman (Rebel Ridge), Josh Hamilton (The Walking Dead) and Rob Huebel (The Sex Lives of College Girls).
The Five-Star Weekend tells the story of “Hollis Shaw (Garner), a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life — her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter and her growing pursuit of validation from her followers.
In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her 20s, 30s and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, they will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.”
Jane will play Caroline Shaw, with Denman as Kyle McKenzie, Josh Hamilton as Matthew and Rob Huebel as Charlie Kirtley.
The series will feature Jennifer Garner (Deadpool & Wolverine), Regina Hall (Nine Perfect Stranger), Chloë Sevigny (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Gemma Chan (The Actor), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified).
The Five-Star Weekend is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s novel from This is Us‘ Bekah Brunstetter, who will write and executive produce alongside Beth Schacter. Garner is also executive producing with Sue Naegle and Ali Krug for Dinner Party Productions.
