Fresh from his casting as Euron Greyjoy in the upcoming sixth season of Game of Thrones, Danish actor Pilou Asbæk (Borgen) has signed on to appear alongside Scarlett Johansson in DreamWorks and Paramount’s live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell.
Variety reports that the actor will play Batou, “the best fighter in the section and second in command in the army” in the film, which is being directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).Asbæk has previously worked with Johansson on last year’s sci-fi actioner Lucy, while he is also set to star as Pontius Pilate in MGM’s remake of Ben-Hur.
