Portlandia’s Fred Armisen joins Zoolander 2

April 23, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

The cast of Paramount Pictures’ comedy sequel Zoolander 2 has added another name, with the news that Portlandia and Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen has signed on to the film.

The sequel, which stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, shoots in Rome for three months in and around Cinecittà Studios. Stiller is directing and co-wrote the script with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder).

Stiller recently confirmed that Penelope Cruz will be playing a major role in the film, while Stiller’s wife Christine Taylor and Billy Zane are also set to return, as is Will Ferrell as the evil Mugatu, although Ferrell’s appearance is rumoured to be only a cameo. Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) also joins the cast, as well as further rumoured cameos from model Cara Delevingne (Paper Towns) and Oscar nominee Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street).

Zoolander 2 opens on February 12th, 2016.
