Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale to lead Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene

March 12, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Pretty Little Liars and Life Sentence star Lucy Hale has signed on to lead the cast of The CW’s Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene, which is based upon the Archie Comics character of the same name.

The synopsis for Katy Keene, which is set in the same universe as Riverdale but taking place several years into the future, reads as follows:

“Katy Keene follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City. This musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio.”

In addition to Hale, Katy Keene will also star Camille Hyde (Power Rangers Dino Charge), Lucien Laviscount (Snatch), Jonny Beauchamp (Penny Dreadful) and Julia Chan (Saving Hope), while Ashleigh Murray reprises her Riverdale role as Josie McCoy.

Katy Keene will be the second spinoff from Riverdale after Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, although that show went to Netflix rather than The CW.
