Quentin Tarantino confirms his Star Trek will be R-rated and littered with profanity

June 13, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Quentin Tarantino has confirmed that his Star Trek movie will be R-rated and replete with profanity if the project comes together.

Many were surprised to hear iconic director Quentin Tarantino was looking to direct a Star Trek movie, especially considering the adult and violent tone his films usually have.

However, these plans are still in place and now the director has confirmed that he doesn’t intend on departing from his usual style of movie. Speaking to Empire, when asked if the film would have profanity in it, Tarantino responded, “Oh yeah!”, and he also confirmed that the film would be R-rated:

“It’s an R-rated movie. If I do it, it’ll be R-rated… There’s a script that exists for it now. I need to weigh in on it, but I haven’t been able to do that yet.”

So, while the project isn’t set in stone, if all goes according to plan, audiences can look forward to a unique, R-rated Star Trek movie from one of cinema’s all-time greats.
