Raymond Lee to lead NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot

March 6, 2022 by Gary Collinson

NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot has found its lead, with Raymond Lee (Here and Now, Kevin Can F**k Himself) signing on to headline the upcoming pilot in the role of Dr. Ben Seong, the “spiritual successor” to Scott Bakula’s Dr. Sam Beckett.

A follow-up to the beloved original, the pilot for the potential series picks up “30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.”

Lee’s Ben Seong is described as a scientist and man of faith who is a world-renowned physicist who finds himself stuck in the late 1980s after using the Quantum Leap technology on himself. At this point, Scott Bakula is not officially attached to return as Sam Beckett, although he has had preliminary talks over his possible involvement.

Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt (Lea Brea) have written the pilot and are executive producing with Martin Gero (Blindspot) along with original creator Donald P. Bellisario and producer and narrator Deborah Pratt.
