According to The Wrap, Rebecca Thomas (Electrick Children) is in talks to direct Universal and Working Title’s live-action The Little Mermaid adaptation, which is set to star Chloe Grace Moretz in the title role.
Sofia Coppola was previously attached to The Little Mermaid, which is being penned by Richard Curtis, although she pulled out of the project due to creative differences earlier this year.
In addition to The Little Mermaid, Thomas is also attached to the John Green adaptation Looking for Alaska, although both projects are yet to officially receive the green light.
