Rebel Wilson and Josh Gad reportedly wanted for Little Shop of Horrors

July 31, 2017 by Gary Collinson

In December of last year, it was announced that Warner Bros. had tapped Arrowverse supremo Greg Berlanti to direct a feature remake of Little Shop of Horrors, and now comes word that we may be close to casting.

According to The Hashtag Show, the studio is looking at Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect) and Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast) as Audrey and Seymour. If rumours are to be believed, both are interested in the project, although there are no firm deals in place at present.

In Little Shop of Horrors, Seymour, a lonely shopkeeper, discovers that a mysterious plant he found only grows by consuming blood. As it matures, Seymour finds even more success and opportunities, but the plant’s increasing hunger becomes too much for Seymour to handle.

The 1986 musical comedy starred Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene as Seymour and Audrey, and was based upon the rock musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, which was itself an adaptation of Roger Corman’s 1960 feature film The Little Shop of Horrors.
