Ridley Scott to “reintroduce a fresher form of alien” in Prometheus 2

November 20, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in September, Ridley Scott ruled out the possibility of the Xenomorph making an appearance in Prometheus 2, and now the filmmaker has been speaking a little more about the sci-fi sequel, stating that he intends on reintroducing “a fresher form of alien.”

[Prometheus 2] is fresh and getting away from gods and dragons and shit,” Scott tells The Australian. “If I see one more dragon I’m going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons. [The original Alien] is the definitive dragon and he’s a motherf*cker. The alien’s real which is why it’s probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with Prometheus 2 what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act.”

As yet, there’s no word on a potential start date for Prometheus 2, with Scott set to film The Martian following promotional duties on Exodus: Gods and Kings. However, both Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are expected to return.
