September 30, 2015 by Tom Beasley

Horror icon Robert Englund has taken to Twitter to deny rumours that he would return to the role of Freddy Krueger in a potential reboot of A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Reports have suggested that Englund could be tempted back to the role for the latest upcoming remake after he made comments about wanting to make some sort of return to the franchise.

Jackie Earle Haley (RoboCop) portrayed Krueger in the disastrous 2010 reboot overseen by Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes company.

Englund clarified his comments via his official Twitter account…

Just for the record, I will NOT be starring as Freddy in any new Nightmare projects, real or fictional
