Robert Pattinson, the star of The Batman, says that Batman isn’t a hero, teasing how he might play the part on screen.
As with any new Batman reboot, there’s a lot of interest in what the film will entail and how the star will take on the dual role of Bruce Wayne and the Caped Crusader.
Robert Pattinson is the man with the task at the moment and in a recent interview with the New York Times, the actor gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect:
“I’ve always thought that the only reason you’d want to play a good guy all the time is because you’re desperately ashamed of what you’re doing in real life. The most fun part of doing movies is that you can explore the more grotesque or naughty sides of your psyche.”
Pattinson went on to say that to him, Batman “is not a real hero” and “his morality is a little bit off. He’s not the golden boy, unlike almost every other comic-book character. There is a simplicity to his worldview, but where it sits is strange, which allows you to have more scope with the character.”
