Robert Pattinson will “kill it” as Batman, says Tom Holland

September 5, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Tom Holland, the actor behind Spider-Man, thinks that Robert Pattinson is going to make a great Batman.

English actor Tom Holland is enjoying big success as Spider-Man – truly one of the dream superhero parts for any young actor. A character just as big in the comic book world is certainly Batman but does Holland think he could do the role justice?

Well, in a recent GQ video, Holland responded to this question by praising the man currently in possession of the part: “Well, I wouldn’t be as good as my friend Robert Pattinson. He’s gonna kill it as Batman. I don’t even know if that is actually true, is he actually playing Batman? He is? That’s sick, he’s gonna kill it and I wouldn’t want to go up against him because he’s a bit of a beast.”

Fans around the world are looking forward to seeing what Pattinson will bring to the table as Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming movie. Hopefully, DC won’t have to think about casting the role again for quite some time.

As for Holland, it seems we haven’t seen the last of him as Spider-Man despite the breakdown in negotiations between Disney and Sony, as Holland remains attached to the role of the web-slinger, albeit under the control of Sony rather than Marvel Studios. That means no more MCU for Peter Parker, although Holland himself believes that “the legacy and future of Spidey rests in Sony’s safe hands”.

The Batman is set for release on June 25th 2021.
