Rugrats revival will premiere on Paramount+ this month

May 4, 2021 by Ricky Church

The return of Rugrats is coming very soon as Paramount+ announced in their May sizzle reel that the GCI revival series will premiere May 27th on the streaming service.

Rugrats follows the adventures of babies and toddlers Tommy, Chuckie, Susie, twins Phil and Lil and Tommy’s older cousin Angelica. The original voice cast is returning for this new revival, which includes EG Daily as Tommy Pickles, Nancy Cartwright as Chuckie Finster, Cheryl Chase as Angelica Pickles, Cree Summer as Susie Carmichael, and Kath Soucie as Phil and Lil DeVille.

While the original voice cast for the children are returning, the revival has a new cast for their parents. Tony Hale (Arrested Development) joins as Chuckie’s father Chas, Natalie Morales (Stuber) as Phil & Lil’s mother Betty, Nicole Byer (The Unicorn) as Susie’s mother Lucy, Anna Chlumsky (Veep) as Angelica’s mother Charlotte, Ashley Rae Spillers (Vice Principals) as Tommy’s mother Didi, Tom Dewey (Casual) as Tommy’s father Stu, Timothy Simons (Veep) as Angelica’s father Drew, Omar Miller (Ballers) as Susie’s father Randy, and Michael McKean (Better Call Saul) as Grandpa Lou Pickles.

The original Rugrats series made its debut in August 1991 and ran for nine seasons before ending in 2004. The animated kid’s series saw three feature films: The Rugrats Movie, Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, and Rugrats Go Wild. There was even a spin-off Rugrats: All Grown Up!, which followed the children as older kids and pre-teens.
