Rumoured details on how Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor returns in Wonder Woman 1984

September 23, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Potential spoilers follow…

Given his fate at the end of last year’s Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. and DC Films left fans scratching their head earlier this year when it was confirmed that Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor will be making his return in the hotly-anticipated sequel Wonder Woman 1984.

Well, if a rumour from SuperBroMovies is to be believed, it seems we may now have our answer, as the site is reporting that Pedro Pascal’s mystery businessman character will actually turn out to be an evil god in disguise. Apparently he strikes a deal with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, whereby he’ll resurrect her love if Diana does his bidding.

In a twist on the first movie, the resurrected Steve Trevor won’t return as quite the same person Diana fell for during The Great War; instead, this time we’ll see him taking on the “fish of out water” role that Gadot’s Wonder Woman filled in the first movie.

As always, we should treat this as an unconfirmed rumour for the time being, but it’s certainly a plausible for why Steve Trevor is back, and looking exactly the same as he did almost seventy years earlier.

Wonder Woman 1984 sees Gal Gadot once again leading the cast as Diana Prince alongside the returning Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Ewen Bremner (Charlie), Said Taghmaoui (Sameer), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe), Doutzen Kroes (Venelia) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), Natasha Rothwell (Love, Simon), Ravi Patel (Master of None, Grandfathered) and Gabriella Wilde (Doctor Who, Poldark) in an as-yet-unrevealed roles.
