Rupert Grint and Dougray Scott to star in Snatch TV series

August 23, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in April it was announced that Crackle has placed an order for a TV adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s 2000 crime caper Snatch, and now Deadline is reporting that former Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has signed on to star, as well as executing producing. He will be joined in the cast by Dougray Scott (Fear the Walking Dead) and Ed Westwick (Wicked City), while Nick Renton (The Musketeers) directs.

The series “will carry the spirit” of the film, and “centers on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.”

Grint is set to portray “the dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh con man, Charlie Cavendish”, with Scott as Vic Hill and Westwick as nightclub owner Sonny Castillo. Production is set to get underway in the UK next week.
