Russian Doll season 2 teaser reveals April premiere

March 7, 2022 by Ricky Church

Three years after Russian Doll‘s first season premiered on Netflix, the series is set to return to the streamer with its second. Netflix released the first teaser for Russian Doll season 2 today and announced it will premiere on April 20th. Watch the teaser below…

Russian Doll stars Orange is the New Black‘s Natasha Lyonne as Nadia, a woman who finds herself stuck in a time loop at a party in New York City where she always dies before restarting the loop and must find out what is happening to her. She meets Alan (Charlie Barnett) who is somehow going through the same situation as her.

The second season will see Nadia and Alan in another strange time anomaly within New York and must once again find a way out. The official synopsis reads:

Set four years after Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) escaped mortality’s time loop together, Season 2 of Russian Doll will continue to explore existential thematics through an often humorous and sci-fi lens.

Discovering a fate even worse than endless death, this season finds Nadia and Alan delving deeper into their pasts through an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most notorious locations. At first, they experience this as an ever-expanding, era-spanning, intergenerational adventure, but they soon discover this extraordinary event might be more than they bargained for and, together, must search for a way out.
