Sigourney Weaver on Neill Blomkamp’s potential Alien movie: “We’ll see what happens”

February 14, 2015 by Gary Collinson

A couple of days ago Chappie director Neill Blomkamp offered up some insight into his potential Alien movie, stating that Fox would “make it tomorrow” if he decided to go ahead with his plans for another instalment in the sci-fi franchise.

Well, Cinemablend caught up with Blomkamp’s Chappie star Sigourney Weaver, and it seems she’s open to reprising the role of Ellen Ripley should the opportunity present itself:

“We started chatting about it on Chappie, like the first day. And [Blomkamp] grew up watching these, I think he broke the tapes he watched them so much… But I was sort of surprised. He sent me a lot of artwork last spring and some ideas, and so you know… I think we’ll see what happens. We’ll see what happens. There’s no one I can imagine that would do a better job.”
