According to Deadline, Sony Pictures has snapped up the sci-fi spec script Fragment from screenwriters Noah Griffith and Daniel Stewart, who are part of the writing team on Spike TV’s upcoming TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist.
Described as “a contained sci-fi thriller in the vein of Predator meets Lost,” Fragment originated as a short film in 2015, which had the following logline: “An Air Force jet breaks up over the desert. A mysterious radio beacon draws the pilot from the crash site. A discovery is waiting. And it is not of this Earth.”

Griffith and Stewart will receive executive producer credits on the movie adaptation, while Josh Bratman (Fright Night) is producing.
