Shrek director to helm IDW’s Zombies vs. Robots

January 10, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

After starting his directing career with Shrek and Shrek 2, before entering Narnia for The Chronicles of Narnia, director Andrew Adamson has now signed on to helm Inherit the Earth reports Variety.

A big screen adaptation of the IDW series Zombies vs. Robots, the film is to be produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs, and a co-production of Platinum Dunes, Circle of Confusion and IDW Publishing with Sony Pictures set to distribute.

Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) wrote the most recent draft of the script. The original stories from Ashley Wood and Chris Ryall, features a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity’s last survivor, a young girl, is protected from zombie hordes by a team of robots.

No word on a release date just yet, but don’t expect it anytime before 2016.
