Spider-Man and Gamora confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War

January 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in December, a rumoured cast list for Avengers: Infinity War surfaced online, which omitted a handful of expected characters – most notably the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, Spider-Man.

Well, Spidey fans can now breathe easy, as Tom Holland has revealed to Vogue that he will be reprising the role of Peter Parker for the 2018 superhero epic, which will mark his third MCU outing after Captain America: Civil War and this year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana has also confirmed her participation as Gamora, telling MTV that: “I don’t know when they’re gonna let me read it. I mean, I’m not looking forward to the five hours of green make-up, but every time I finally arrive on set I feel so happy and lucky to be there.”

Gamora’s inclusion won’t come as any surprise, seeing as we’ve already heard that the Guardians of the Galaxy will feature, and that Guardians director James Gunn is also involved in the project (presumably as executive producer).

In addition to the returning Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, confirmed characters for Infinity War include Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wong (Benedict Wong), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), while a recent rumour has suggested Liv Tyler could return as Betty Ross.

Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on May 2nd 2018, followed by Avengers 4 on May 3rd, 2019.
