Stanley Tucci reprising Age of Extinction role for Transformers: The Last Knight

September 5, 2016 by Justin Cook

During a trip to Deauville, France to attend his career tribute ceremony, Oscar-nominated actor Stanley Tucci revealed that he will be returning to the Transformers franchise for Michael Bay’s upcoming fifth installment, Transformers: The Last Knight.

In 2014’s much-maligned Transformers: Age of Extinction, Tucci played villain-turned-anti-hero Joshua Joyce. Joyce served as the CEO of KSI (Kinetic Solutions Incorporated), a robot technology company devoted to building artificial Transformers. Despite his strict and business-like demeanour at work, Joyce proved to be a coward when faced with danger and at times was even a source of comic relief.

Quite a few actors who have previously stepped foot into the world of Autobots and Decepticons will be reprising their roles for 2017’s The Last Knight, including Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Peter Cullen.

Tucci has certainly acquired a taste for big-budget blockbusters as of recent, considering how in addition to his role in the Transformers series, the actor has popped up in all four of the Hunger Games films as exuberant commentator Caesar Flickerman and will appear in next year’s Beauty and the Beast as a new character named Cadenza.

New additions to the cast include Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School), Jerrod Carmichael (Bad Neighbours), Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy), Santiago Cabrera (Merlin), Liam Garrigan (Once Upon a Time) and Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World). The film hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
