Star Trek: Discovery to air exclusively on Paramount+ internationally from early 2022

November 16, 2021 by Ricky Church

Just days before the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery premieres, Paramount has thrown a huge curveball for international fans looking forward to the new season. They announced via Twitter that despite the season premiering this coming Friday, international fans will have to wait until early 2022 to see the new season as they prepare to launch their streaming service Paramount+ globally.

“We know you are anxious to hear our plans for Season 4, so we wanted to update you,” the tweet read. “Internationally, the upcoming season of Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 will now premiere exclusively where Paramount+ is available in early 2022. This means the new season, and all previous seasons, will be available internationally in 2022 as Paramount+ expands globally.”

Fans in the US, meanwhile, will still be able to view the season as it airs each Friday along with those in Canada through CTV Sci-Fi Channel and the streaming service Crave, meaning international fans will be left months behind the fourth season as they potentially wait for whenever Paramount+ will launch in their country.
