Star Wars Celebration coming to Chicago in 2019

June 9, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Lucasfilm has announced that it is bringing Star Wars Celebration to Chicago next year, with the convention set to run between April 11th and April 15th at McCormick Palace. Accompanying the news is a brief teaser, featuring footage from Celebrations past…

It will likely be a while before we get any official details as to what fans in attendance can expect to see as Star Wars Celebration 2019, although one would have to assume that there’ll be a major focus on Star Wars: Episode IX, which will have wrapped filming by that point.

Lucasfilm does of course have a host of other Star Wars projects in development, including Anthology movies for Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, a brand new trilogy from Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, a series of movies from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and a live-action TV series from Jon Favreau. Perhaps we’ll get some kind of announcement as to the movie slate for 2020 and beyond, if that reveal hasn’t already been made by that point…
