Star Wars Resistance takes place six months before Star Wars: The Force Awakens

August 25, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Disney and Lucasfilm are set to debut the latest Star Wars animated series Star Wars Resistance this October, with the show helping to fill in some of the blanks in the thirty-year gap between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Given that it includes Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron and Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma, it’s clear that the show takes place much closer to the latter, and now we know exactly where it falls in the Star Wars timeline.

An eagle-eyed fan has been looking through the source code of the official website, where a short synopsis reveals that Resistance takes place just months before The Force Awakens.

“Set about six months before The Force Awakens, Star Wars Resistance tells the story of Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.”
