Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One pushed back to avoid Star Wars: Episode VIII, The Flash moved up a week

February 9, 2016 by Gary Collinson

The domino effect of Disney’s decision to push Star Wars: Episode VIII back to December 2017 continues, with Warner Bros. announcing that it has moved Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One to March 30th 2018.

The Ready Player One adaptation was originally set for release on December 15th 2017, a date now occupied by Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII.

To make room for Ready Player One, Warner Bros. has also moved an untitled DC Extended Universe film – thought to be the Ezra Miller-headlined The Flash up one week from March 23rd 2018 to March 16th 2018, which will also allow it to play on IMAX.
