Stranger Things Season 4 will explore Eleven’s backstory, says Millie Bobby Brown

April 19, 2022 by Liam Waddington

Ahead of the premiere of the fourth season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, Eleven actor Millie Bobby Brown has provided some details on her character’s story arc in the latest batch of episodes.

In an interview with Collider, Brown stated that while she couldn’t provide specific details, she could confirm that the newest season will further explore Eleven’s backstory.

“I really can’t go into detail about that. Wow. Oh, my God. It’s going to be this type of day. I really can’t get into detail about that. What I can tell you is that it always leads back to The Upside Down and Eleven is obviously high character arc and this season is incredible. You guys definitely get to see things that you have been questioning, you get answers, which is super great. It was also really nice for me to be filming that and to understand more of Eleven’s background, but you guys will get to deep dive into that for sure [in] Season 4.”

Later in the same interview, Brown also confirmed that the relationship between Winona Ryder’s Joyce Byers and Eleven will continue to evolve in season four, stating: “As you know, she moves away with Joyce, Jonathan, and Will, and naturally when a woman is in your life, you’re inspired by her, especially a mother figure. That’s something that Eleven hasn’t had yet.”

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Sadie Sink as Max, Maya Hawke as Robin, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair and Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman.

New additions to the cast four season four include Robert Englund, Tom Wlaschiha, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, and Grace Van Dien.

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 will premiere on May 27th, while Vol. 2 will follow on July 1st.
