Suicide Squad 2 enlists new screenwriters

June 10, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Having been put on the back burner in favour of Birds of Prey, it is now being reported that the DC Extended Universe sequel Suicide Squad 2 has enlisted a pair of new screenwriters.

THR is reporting that David Bar Katz (The Man in the Rockefeller Suit, Spawn) and Todd Stashwick (Gotham, 12 Monkeys) have oined the project, which has originally been penned by Adam Cozad (The Legend of Tarzan).

Gavin O’Connor (The Accountant) remains attached to direct Suicide Squad, and the last we heard the plan was for production to get underway early in 2019 once Birds of Prey has wrapped.

It’s also been reported this past week that Warner Bros. and DC Films is keen to use the Suicide Squad franchise to launch spinoff movies, including a solo film for Jared Leto’s The Joker.

As yet, there’s no word on a potential release date for Suicide Squad 2, or any of the many other DC movies in the works, save for Aquaman, Shazam and Wonder Woman 2.
