Supergirl adds Jennifer Cheon Garcia as the villain Midnight

August 2, 2019 by Ricky Church

Supergirl‘s fifth season will see the Girl of Steel up against a new foe. Variety reports Jennifer Cheon Garcia (Van Helsing) will star as the villainous Midnight in the upcoming season.

Midnight is the “physical manifestation of darkness” and “a murderous villain released from an otherwordly prison to enact revenge against the person who put her there.” She will guest star in Supergirl’s season five premiere.

The news comes after some major casting announcements with Supergirl and the anticipated Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. Mehcad Brooks, who has played James Olsen since the beginning of the series, will be leaving the show before the crossover while Jeremy Jordan, who portrayed Winn Schott, will return to Supergirl in the back half of the fifth season.

Meanwhile, Crisis on Infinite Earths will see Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch reprise their roles as Superman and Lois Lane while Jon Cryer is also set to return as the villainous Lex Luthor. Additionally, Brandon Routh will don the ‘S’ sigil for the first time since Superman Returns as another version of Superman, one said to be inspired by the graphic novel Kingdom Come.

Supergirl will premiere October 6th on The CW.
