February 12, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that MGM’s Sylvester Stallone-led superhero thriller Samaritan has filled out its supporting cast ahead of production this coming week.

Joining Stallone in the cast of the film is young boxing prodigy Javon Walton (Euphoria), who will play a young boy who sets out to discover whether a legendary superhero (Stallone) may still be alive some twenty years after they disappeared in battle.

Also set to feature in the film are Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones), Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black) and Moises Arias (Hannah Montana).

Overlord helmer Julius Avery is directing Samaritan, while Bragi F. Schut (Escape Room), Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), Zak Penn (Watchmen) and Chuck MacLean (City on a Hill) have contributed to the script and Stallone is producing through his recently-formed Balboa Productions.

Samaritan is set for release on December 11th.
