Taron Egerton to star alongside Rosamund Pike in A Private War

September 10, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

Originally published September 10, 2017. Updated April 16, 2018.

In casting news coming out of the Toronto International Film Festival, Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) has joined the cast of director Matthew Heineman’s (Cartel Land) upcoming drama A Private War.

The film stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) as famed war journalist Marie Colvin, and explores Colvin’s assignments in conflict zones such as Chechnya, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Egerton is set to play a journalist with a military background who follows Colvin into war zone after war zone.

Pike is in Toronto to unveil her latest film, the Christian Bale-headlined Hostiles, while Egerton reprises the role of Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin for this month’s spy sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
