Paramount+ has set a November release date for the second season of Landman, the Billy Bob Thorton-led series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.
The series is based on the podcast Boomtown which explores the modern day Texas oil industry. Thorton stars as Tommy Norris, a lawyer for an oil company investigating a fatal accident. Joining season two is Sam Elliot, whose role is being kept under wraps for the time being.
Landman is just the latest series of Sheridan’s TV empire. In addition to its upcoming season, Tulsa King will return in September with the spinoff NOLA King scheduled to begin production next year and Mayor of Kingstown‘s fourth season will premiere in October.
Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, the series is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
Landman features Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, Michael Peña and Colm Feore.
Landman season two will premiere November 16th.
