Tessa Thompson to lead Netflix drama His & Hers

July 25, 2024 by Ricky Church

Tessa Thompson (Thor: Love and Thunder) has joined Netflixès His & Hers, a limited drama series based on the novel of the same name by Alice Feeney.

Thompson will play Anna, a woman who “lives in haunting reclusivity, fading away from her friends and career as a journalist. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega — the sleepy town where she grew up — Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: his and hers, which means someone is always lying.”

His & Hers will swap the novel’s UK setting to take place in Atlanta. Thompson will executive produce the series while Dee Johnson (Fellow Travelers) will serve as showrunner. He will write the series alongside Bill Dubuque (Ozark) and William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth), the latter of whom will direct the pilot. All three will also executive produce with Thompson.

His & Hers will run for six-episodes. Producing are Fifth Season, Freckle Films, Campout Productions and Thompson’s Viva Maude.
