The age of toys is over? That looks to be the dilemma facing Woody, Buzz and the gang in Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 5, which has just received a first teaser trailer and poster that introduces the newest hip plaything LilyPad (voiced by Greta Lee), as the gang find themselves contending with a new threat to playtime in the form of modern tech.
It’s been a hilarious and poignant journey exploring how our favourite team of legacy toys might respond to today’s world of technology, and we’re thrilled to share this first glimpse with audiences,” states director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) and co-director Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto). “Having the remarkably talented Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humour and heart — has been incredible.”
In addition to Greta Lee, the voice cast of Toy Story 5 will see the return of Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz), Joan Cusack (Jessie) and Tony Hale (Forky), while Conan O’Brien will voice the toilet training tech toy Smarty Pants. Take a look at the teaser here…
