The Angry Birds Movie 3 flies into production with Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad returning

June 7, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Rovio Entertainment, Sega and Prime Focus Studios has announced that production is underway on The Angry Birds Movie 3, with Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Josh Gad (Frozen) set to return as the voices of Red and Chuck respectively.

The new film is being directed by John Rice (The Angry Birds Movie) from a script by Thurop Van Orman (The Angry Birds Movie 2), while producers include Toru Nakahara (Sonic the Hedgehog), John Cohen (The Garfield Movie) and Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines). Further casting news is expected soon.

The Angry Birds movies are based upon Rovio’s hugely-successful mobile video game series, which has amassed over 2 billion downloads since its launch in 2009. The first two movies grossed over $500 million at the worldwide box office, while an unrelated animated series Angry Birds: Mystery Island also premiered on Prime Video last month.

As yet, there’s no word on an expected release for The Angry Birds Movie 3.
