The Boys spin-off series fast-tracked by Amazon Studios

September 25, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Prepare to see more from the strange and twisted world of The Boys as it has been announced that Amazon has green-lit and fast-tracked the production of a new spin-off based upon the hit comic book adaptation.

Reports say the series will be set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes, which happens to be run by Vought International. The series is being described as “an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

The Boys writer and executive producer Craig Rosenberg is writing the pilot. He will also serve as executive producer/showrunner on the spinoff under his overall deal with Sony Pictures TV. Eric Kripke, as well as Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, and Pavun Shetty, will also EP the series.

Eric Kripke took to Twitter to confirm this news:

THAT'S RIGHT, MOTHERFUCKERS.
(Seriously, I'm so grateful to you all for making #TheBoys such a huge success. I'm having the time of my life, so I can't thank you enough. Much, MUCH more to come!)#TheBoysTV @TheBoysTV @PrimeVideo #SPNFamily https://t.co/mJymsIxbx9
