The family will reunite for Fast & Furious 10 in April 2023

August 18, 2021 by Ricky Church

Nothing can keep family apart for long as Universal has set a release date for Fast & Furious 10. The family will reunite for their next globe-trotting and fast adventure April 7, 2023.

Fast & Furious 10 will follow F9: The Fast Saga, which was released earlier this summer and was the first film during Covid to pass the $500 million mark at the box office. Unlike previous tentpole blockbusters released in theatres during the pandemic, F9 has so far grossed $681.5 million, being the strongest film financially in the past year after it was delayed from its original April 2020 release date.

While any plot details aren’t know, lead star Vin Diesel has previously suggested Fast & Furious 10 would be a two-part film with the second part serving as a finale to the whole franchise. Whether this will remain the case or they’ll adjust their plans post-Covid is unknown and we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Universal or Diesel. Fast & Furious 10 will be the tenth film in the main series and eleventh in the franchise overall after 2019’s spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which also has a sequel in the works.

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, the upcoming The Suicide Squad).

The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tbilisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.

Fast & Furious 9 sees Justin Lin directing a cast that includes Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron.
