The Flash season 3 premiere titled ‘Flashpoint’

June 20, 2016 by Gary Collinson

You may have guessed this was on the cards given the events of the season two finale, but now Grant Gustin has made it official, revealing on Twitter that the season three premiere of The Flash is titled ‘Flashpoint’.

If you’re unfamiliar with the comic book storyline ‘Flashpoint’ (or the rather excellent animated movie Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox), it saw Barry Allen awakening in an alternate timeline which saw huge changes to many of the iconic DC heroes and villains, and ultimately led to the creation of The New 52 universe.

Flashpoint certainly seems like a good way of bringing Supergirl into the Arrowverse fold, but you have to wonder how Barry’s new timeline will impact Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Are you excited that The Flash is adapting Flashpoint? And how will it impact the wider Arrowverse? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
