The Nut Job 2 announced for May 2017

April 13, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Open Road Films has announced that The Nut Job 2 is set for release in North America on May 19th 2017, having originally been eyed for release back in January of this year.

Deadline reports that the sequel to the 2014 independent animated hit will “return to Oakton, where the evil mayor decides to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Surly Squirrel and his ragtag group of animal friends band together to save their home, defeat the mayor, and take back the park.”

Will Arnett is set to return as Surly Squirrel alongside original voice cast members Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Gabriel Iglesias and Jeff Dunham. The film is being directed by Cal Brunker (Escape From Planet Earth).
