HBO Max’s hit medical drama The Pitt has made a new addition to its ensemble cast in Sepideh Moafi (The L Word: Generation Q).
Moafi will be in a series regular role as an attending physician in emergency medicine. The Pitt is a unique medical drama as its first season focused on a single 15-hour shift in the ER department as its physicians and surgeons had to deal with trauma after trauma as well as their own personal problems.
The second season is currently in production. Little is known about the upcoming season, but a time jump has been teased as its characters may be seen in new roles at the hospital alongside its new characters. Next season’s shift may also take place over the July 4th weekend with an eye on the number of injuries taking place over the weekend’s celebratory festivities.
As well as Moafi joining the series, further additions include Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard and Lucas Iverson in recurring roles.
The Pitt was created by R. Scott Gemmill and John Wells with series lead Noah Wyle also serving as one of its writers and executive producers.
THE PITT is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.
The Pitt stars Noah Wyle, Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Marron Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Katherine LaNasa.
