The X-Files Season 11 to premiere in midseason 2018

May 17, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Originally published May 17, 2017. Updated November 21, 2019.

Last month it was announced that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will once again be reuniting with Chris Carter for an eleventh season of The X-Files, and now we have confirmation from Fox that the show will premiere in midseason 2018.

From the official press release:

The next chapter of THE X-FILES, a thrilling, 10-episode second installment of the event series, once again will be executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average multi-platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was the season’s No. 2 broadcast drama, as well as the most talked-about event series on Twitter.

Season 10 of The X-Files premiered in January 2016, so late January 2018 seems likely for this next run of episodes of the beloved paranormal drama series.
