This Is Us enjoys series high ratings for season 2 premiere

September 28, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The season 2 premiere of This Is Us achieved the highest ratings in the show’s history.

This Is Us is a huge hit for NBC and the much loved drama wowed executives once again with another huge ratings win. The season premiere managed to capture a 3.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 12.6 million viewers in its 9pm timeslot.

That is a whopping improvement of 36% in the demo compared to what the season 1 premiere achieved and a nice 12% increase over last season’s finale. The premiere episode also became the second most viewed This Is Us episode so far, only behind the season 1 finale’s 12.8 million viewers.

These results go to show that This Is Us season 1 was no fluke and that fans have every intention of sticking around for more, cementing the show as one of biggest success stories in the current TV landscape.

Season two of This Is Us  premiered on September 26th, and features a cast that includes Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones.
