Thor: Ragnarok writer working with James Mangold on X-23 script

October 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this week Logan director James Mangold revealed that he is developing a spinoff to Hugh Jackman’s final X-Men outing focusing on Dafne Keen’s Wolverine clone Laura, a.k.a. X-23.

While the project is still in its very earliest stages, with Mangold beginning to work on the story, it has now been announced that he will be teaming up with Thor: Ragnarok writer Craig Kyle to pen the script.

I’ve been sitting on this news for months! One of the biggest secrets I’ve ever kept. https://t.co/GkJxv5Ic3i

Kyle has written extensively for Marvel, and is actually the co-creator of X-23 along with Chris Yost, having introduced the character in the animated series X-Men: Evolution. His other work includes all eight of the direct-to-video movies in the Marvel Animated Features line, as well as Wolverine and the X-Men.
