Tim Miller to direct Keanu Reeves in time-loop sci-fi Shiver

November 1, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

Keanu Reeves is returning to sci-fi under the stewardship of Deadpool-director Tim Miller with the news that the two are teaming up for potential Warner Bros project Shiver.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Shiver is being described as a cross between Edge of Tomorrow and Blake Lively shark survival thriller The Shallows. Miller will direct from a script written by Ian Shorr, who tackled similar high-concept sci-fi with Mark Wahlberg actioner Infinite.

Plot details are few and far between, but Shiver is rumoured to focus on a good-for-nothing smuggler who finds himself caught in a deadly double-cross while working in the Caribbean Sea, leaving him surrounded by bodies, baddies, and a number of bloodthirsty sharks. He soon discovers that he is caught in a time-loop and must find a away to break out of it.

Shiver will be produced by Kingsman‘s Matthew Vaughn under his Marv Films banner, alongside Dumb Money‘s Aaron Ryder.

Reeves is coming off the back of two underwhelming projects in Ballerina and Good Fortune, while this will mark Miller’s return to feature length filmmaking following the rough ride that was 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate.
