Toni Collette joins Anna Kendrick in sci-fi Stowaway

January 18, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Back in October it was announced that Anna Kendrick is set for a trip to Mars in the sci-fi survival thriller Stowaway, and now comes word from Variety that Hereditary star Toni Collette will be joining her on the journey.

Stowaway is being directed by Joe Penna from a script by Penna and his Arctic co-writer Ryan Morrison, and “follows the crew of a spaceship headed to Mars that discovers an accidental stowaway shortly after takeoff. Too far from Earth to turn back and with resources quickly dwindling, the ship’s medical researcher (Kendrick) emerges as the only dissenting voice against the clinical logic of both her commander (Collette) and the ship’s biologist who have already decided in favor of a grim outcome.”

Colette will next be seen with Jake Gyllenhaal and Renee Russo in Dan Gilroy’s Velvet Buzzsaw [watch the trailer here], and is also set to star in Knives Out, the next film from Star Wars: The Last Jedi helmer Rian Johnson, where she’ll appear alongside the likes of Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Ana de Armas and Katherine Langford.
