Transparent to come to an end with fifth season

May 11, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After parting ways with its lead star Jeffrey Tambor last November following allegations of sexual misconduct, it has now been announced that Amazon’s Transparent will come to an end with its upcoming fifth season.

Tambor was fired from the show after accusations that he’d sexually harassed guest star Trace Lysette and his former assistant Van Jones, although the actor vigorously denied the claims and criticised Amazon for its handling of the situation.

Following his departure, creator Jill Soloway spoke about the fifth season, stating that: “Hopefully it sets the Pfeffermans up with some sort of beautiful reclaiming. I think we’re going to get there with some time.”

Despite his exit from Transparent, it has been announced that Tambor will be reprising his role as George Bluth Sr. in the upcoming fifth season of Arrested Development.
