Tyler Hoechlin won’t compare his Superman to Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel

June 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Last week it was announced that Tyler Hoechlin is set to take on the role of Superman for the second season of Supergirl, with the Teen Wolf star subsequently stating that he’s “honored and humbled” to play the Man of Steel.

Attending the Sydney Film Festival premiere of his new film Everybody Wants Some!!, The Daily Mail caught up with Hoechlin, and asked whether he felt nervous about living up to Henry Cavill’s portrayal in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

“I never try to compare and contrast performances because it’s such an iconic character already,” said Hoechlin. “Superman is Superman so I’m just going to try to carry on the tradition of that and play that part. I think the fun is going to be finding where Clark Kent is in this world. I’m just excited to find out Clark’s sense of humour.”

Hoechlin is set to make his Superman debut in the season two premiere of Supergirl, which is set to air on The CW on Monday, October 17th.
