Up short film sequel Carl’s Date gets new trailer

June 13, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Carl Fredricksen is coming to float into our hearts again as the main character behind the fan-favorite Up will return in a new short film that will play in front of the upcoming Elemental. The all-new short, Carl’s Date, returns to the studio’s tradition of pairing its feature films with animated shorts on the big screen.

Carl’s Date will follow Carl as he reluctantly agrees to go on a date with a lady friend—but admittedly has no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and offer some tried-and-true tips for making friends—if you’re a dog.

The short is written and directed by Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins. Check out the trailer below…
