Urban legend horror The Rake gets a release date

May 1, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Red Band Films and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced that urban legend horror feature film, The Rake, starring Rachel Melvin (Dumb and Dumber To), Sheane Grime-Beech (Scream 4), and Joey Bicicchi (Rudderless), is set for release on DVD and Digital this June.

Directed by award-winning horror filmmaker Tony Wash, the  film follows Ashley and Ben who, at a young age, witnessed the brutal murder of their parents. Twenty years later, Ashley is still convinced it wasn’t someone, but something that killed her parents, and now she’s tormented by the thought that the local urban legend, The Rake, has returned for her and her family. Is Ashley traumatized, or is the creature inside her real?

The Rake, which was co-written by Jeremy Silva and Tony Wash, also stars Stephen Brodie (The Lone Ranger), Joe Nuñez (Superbad) and Izabella Miko (Coyote Ugly), and is produced by Mike Dozier (Devil in My Ride), with Jason Howard, Tommy Vlahopoulos (Intruders) and Tom Sulkowski (Glass Jaw) executive producing.

The Rake is set for release on DVD and Digital June 5th 2018.
