Video Game Review – Frostpunk

April 23, 2018 by Lewy Buck

Lewy Buck reviews Frostpunk…

I’ve always been a huge fan of city builders and I’ve been lucky enough to have reviewed two of my favourites here on Flickering Myth> both Banished and Kingdoms and Castles have kept me up until the early hours of the morning clicking away and telling myself I’ll go to sleep after one more building is built. It never happens.  After hearing that the same studios that gave us This War of Mine were releasing a dark steampunk survival city builder you could have well and truly considered my interests peaked, with every developer update 11 bit studios threw up onto their YouTube channel excitement really began to set in. Over the past few days I’ve pretty much been fully engrossed into the harsh, brutal and wonderful world of Frostpunk so be sure to check my video review below…

Pros

– Beautiful visuals

– Incredibly addictive

– Deep research/skill tree

–  Awesome apocalyptic steam punk aesthetic

– Great Music

Cons

– Difficult (even on easy)

– Camera could be better (smoother panning and higher zoom)

Rating – 9/10

Frostpunk is the first society survival game. As the ruler of the last city on Earth, it is your duty to manage both its citizens and its infrastructure. What decisions will you make to ensure your society’s survival? What will you do when pushed to breaking point? Who will you become in the process?

Frostpunk is available to purchase through Steam on the 24/04/2018
